Celebrating Strength, Promoting Equality!
The Women's Cell at the college is a dedicated initiative designed to support and empower female students throughout their academic journey. Its primary mission is to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where women can address their unique challenges, seek guidance, and develop their potential.
Key Services:
1. Support and Counselling: The Women's Cell offers confidential counselling services to address a range of issues including academic stress, personal challenges, and mental health concerns. Trained counsellors provide a supportive space for students to discuss their difficulties and receive professional guidance. This is done through the college counselling centre.
2. Empowerment and Development: The cell organizes workshops, seminars, and training sessions focused on personal development, self-defence skills, leadership skills, and career planning. These initiatives aim to empower female students by enhancing their confidence and preparing them for future challenges.
3. Awareness and Advocacy: It works to raise awareness about issues affecting women, such as gender equality, safety, and harassment. The cell advocates for policies and practices that promote a respectful and equitable campus environment.
4. Community Building: By fostering a sense of community, the Women's Cell provides a platform for female students to connect, share experiences, and support each other. Networking events and peer support groups help build strong, supportive relationships among students.
5. Resource Accessibility: The cell ensures that students have access to resources such as legal advice, and health services, tailored to meet the specific needs of women on campus.
6. Cultural and Recreational Activities: Organizing cultural events, recreational activities, and social gatherings that celebrate women's achievements are organized regularly to promote a positive campus culture.
Activities
1. Women’s day is celebrated every year by inviting very inspiring women personalities to motivate the girl students.
2. Pongal festival, Onam festival and other festivals are celebrated.
3. Various competitions are conducted and prizes are awarded.
