Your Campus, Your Respect: Fight Sexual Harassment Now!!
Sexual harassment remains a critical concern in educational institutions, undermining the safety and well-being of students, faculty, and staff. To address this issue effectively, RGASC has established an Anti-Sexual Harassment Cell (ASH Cell), a dedicated body tasked with preventing, addressing, and resolving instances of sexual harassment. The primary goal of the ASH Cell is to foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive campus where all individuals can pursue their educational and professional goals without fear of harassment or discrimination.
Operational Framework
• Code of Conduct: The college has a set of code of conduct to be followed by the student. The college has established procedures for handling complaints. These are communicated clearly to all members of the college community.
• Complaint Management: The cell provides multiple avenues for individuals to lodge complaints including emails, physical submission box, and direct contact with designated officials. Ensuring accessibility and confidentiality is fundamental to allowing all members of the institution to voice their concerns.
• Support and Counselling: The cell offers access to counselling services and advisory support for individuals affected by harassment. This support is integral to addressing the emotional and psychological impact of such incidents.
• Training and Awareness: Regular workshops, seminars, and orientation programs are conducted to inform the college community about sexual harassment, encourage respectful behaviour, and promote a zero-tolerance stance towards harassment. Students are also trained in self-defence.
In summary, the Anti-Sexual Harassment Cell is a key component of a college's commitment to creating a safe and supportive environment for its community. Through its comprehensive approach to policy, support, and education, the ASH Cell works to prevent and address sexual harassment, ensuring that all members of the college can thrive without fear of harassment or discrimination
